It’s hard for me to to believe, but I first launched LetsMakeApps.io back in 2015, almost three years ago. The original plan was to curate freelance gigs for mobile app developers, which is where the name came from. However, we quickly got lots of requests to add gigs for other types of developers and designers, which we did. And that’s awesome, because we’ve been able to support hundreds of freelancers in finding work over the last three years, which makes me really happy.
However, the name hasn’t really made sense for a long time, given our scope. Additionally, we’re going to be making other changes and improvements to the service in 2018 and beyond that will make the name even more confusing.
So as a result, we’re going to be rolling out a new name and brand next week that will carry us forward as we seek to fulfill our primary mission: helping as many freelancers find great clients and projects as possible.
If you’ve ever tried to pick a startup name, you know how hard it can be, but we did some research and thought about our core mission and I’m excited with what we came up with:
I personally love it. If you’re on the fence, it’ll probably grow on you. If you hate it, don’t tell me, because it’s too late 😃
Anyway, we’re going to be rolling this out next week, and there’s absolutely no action that you need to take. This is just a heads up so you’re in the loop when the emails and website name changes. The new website will live at Everleads.co
If you have questions, concerns, criticisms, etc, let us know and we’ll address!
